Nepal 121 for 9 in 20 overs beat Malaysia 100 all out in 18.5 overs
Nepal vs Malaysia

The Nepal Malaysia match played at the Hubara grounds at KOC was a closely fought one as Malaysia bowled exceptionally well to restrict Nepal to 121 runs in 20 overs but the experienced & fighting Nepal lads bowled their hearts out to bundle Malaysia for a paltry 100 runs to win the match.

Winning the toss, Malaysia let Nepal take first strike and Openers Paresh Lohani & Mehboob Alam posted 34 runs for the first wicket. Introduction of spinners lead to the downfall of wickets at regular intervals and Nepal could score only 121 runs. Paresh Lohani notched a patient 31 runs while Basanth Regmi top scored with 33 runs. Binod Das chipped in with 18 runs. Arul Suppaiah who took 2 for 11 was the most successful bowler for Malaysia.

Malaysia started off well but suddenly had to apply brakes after they lost 3 of their top order batsmen for 34 runs on board. Arul Suppaih fought a lone battle by scoring 45 runs and Krishna Murthy scored a valuable 16 runs. Rest of the Malaysian batsmen could not with stand the nagging line and length of B. K. Rahul & Basanth Regmi and were bundled out for 100 runs. Basanth Regmi for his useful contribution with bat & ball was declared man of the match. [Full Scorecard]
