Kuwait, A fantastic all round performance by Asghar Bajwa of Bahrain dashed Afghanistan’s hopes of winning the prestigious ACC Middle East Cup 2006, played at KOC Ahmadi ground . In a tensed and exiting finals played, both the teams matched neck to neck but experience prevailed over the much talented Afghanistan outfit and Bahrain won the match by 3 wickets. n spite of a hard earn victory against Bahrain, Kuwait were knocked out of the ACC Middle East Cup 2006. In a do or die battle, Kuwait scored 285 runs and their only chance to qualify for the final spot was to gain a bonus point for which they had to restrict Bahrain within 228 runs. Afghanistan endured another wash-out on 22nd February, 2006 against Iran in ACC Middle East Cup 2006 was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The Match Refree Mr. Murli Kutticode called off the match at 2.00 p.m. due to wet condition of pitch.
The pitch remained unfit for play due to over night rain. Yesterday's match between Bahrain and Afghanistan was also ruined by rain. |
