Kuwait, Dec.21,05, After a very successfully completion of ACC Middle East Cup and Gulf Cup last year, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has invited Kuwait Cricket Association (KCA) once again to host the ACCMiddle East Cricket Tournament 2006. The participating countries are Afghanistan, Iran, Bahrain , Saudi Arab along with Kuwait. The round robin league based tournament is scheduled to be held from 17 th -24 th of February 2006 at the lush green outfield with turf wickets at KOC Ahmadi and Kuwait Entertainment City Cricket grounds.The honor and privilege highlights the confidence in Asia’s apex cricket body, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), in Kuwait Cricket Association’s abilities under the presidentship of HE Sheikh Dhari Fahed Al Ahmed Al Sabah. Kuwait Cricket Association (KCA) is delighted for being given the opportunity to host the “ACCMiddle East Cricket Tournament 2006” in Kuwait. KCA is pleased to announce that it will soon be selecting the Kuwait National squad to participate in the ACC ME Cup. The primary eligibility criteria is the player must be either a Kuwaiti passport holder or possessing a Kuwaiti birth record or must have been a resident of Kuwait for at least a minimum of four years. The qualification Rules and Regulations as defined in the ICC Code of Conduct for Standard Playing Conditions will be strictly followed in selecting the team. It applies to all participating nations. The cut-off date for the residential qualification is 15th February 2006 . All interested and eligible players are requested to register with KCA on Thursday the 22 nd December 2005 between 2 pm to 4 pm at KEC Cricket Ground and attend the preliminary information session.
